America, God (B)less You If It's Good to You...

Updated: Oct 4, 2018

For some reason, the patriotic supremacist of America seem to believe that Colin sitting and other athletes kneeling before the flag is somehow disrespectful. In fact this has caused such a problem, that when Nike made Colin Kaepernick the face of Nike for his courageous display of bravery, customers wrecked their own Nike gear and took it to social media for a form of protesting. Kaepernick specifically stated that his motives were to show that he, “Would not stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” according to NFL media, “To me, this is bigger than football….” Bigger than football. Kaepernick risked his career to send a global message to people all over the world to recognize racism for what it really is.

He didn’t care about how it would affect the size of his fan base, how much money was on the line, and most of all the safety of himself and his family.

You see this is a racial outcry, and usually these sort of topics don’t get taken lightly to what Trump would call, “The alt-left”. Kaepernick was even ridiculed by his birth mother who put him up for adoption at 19, and refused to allow him to meet his father. So really, who should be getting criticized at this point. Anyway, Kaepernick’s mother, Heidi Russo, called him out for being a ‘shame to the family’. On August 27, 2016, Russo tweeted, “@Kaepernick There’s ways to change without disrespecting and bringing shame to the very country and family who afforded you blessings”. Russo’s tweet was in error in two ways. Number one Kaepernick's parents that adopted him (his real family), according to the ESPN article entitled, ‘Colin Kaepernick's parents break silence: 'We absolutely do support him', stated that, “Colin is carrying a heavy load and following a difficult path that he truly believes in. He is putting his entire future and possibly his life on the line for those beliefs," they continued on to say that, “As his parents, it pains us to read articles and tweets saying that his family does not support him; this could not be further from the truth. We want people to know that we are very proud of our son and admire his strength and courage in kneeling for the rights of others.”

Wow, such shame right? The second reason is because this nation has never blessed Kaepernick or the other athletes! He did not pray his career into his hands and it surely wasn’t given to him on a silver platter by “America”. The only things that were handed to him was problems, disrespect, hate, ridicule and a football.

‘You reap what you sow,’

Nothing came easy for Kaepernick or for the other Athletes that kneeled.

Now back to disrespecting the flag!

LET’S GET TECHNICAL! According to the article, ‘14 ways you are disrespecting the American flag and might not know it’, Here are some easy ways that our Great Flag is disrespected by the very anti-Kaepernick citizens and white supremacists that ridiculed him.

AHEM….(Pay attention to the 6th and the last bullet point

  • The flag should never be drawn back or bunched in anyway.

  • The flag should not be used as wearing apparel (but when Katy Perry wore it, it was ‘patriotic’ and not disrespect, as expected).

  • The flag should never be used for as a covering for a ceiling.

  • The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise, impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use.

  • The flag should never be fastened, displayed. Used or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, or damaged in anyway.

  • The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personal, firefighters, police officers, and members of patriotic organizations.

  • The flag should never have any in-sigma, letter, word number figure, or drawing of any kind placed on it or attached to it.

  • The flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle, railroad train or boat. When the flag is displayed on a motor car, the staff should be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.

  • If the flag is being used at a public or private estate, it should not be hung during rain or violent weather.

  • When a flag is so tattered that it no longer fits to serve as a symbol of the united states, it should be destroyed in a dignified manner

AND LAST, YET CERTAINLY NOT LEAST!

  • The flag should NEVER be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

You see the NFL has been disrespecting the flag LONG before Colin Kaepernick sat during the National Anthem, according to the 6th and last rule. Imagine how many of our ‘patriotic citizens and supremacists’ are doing the same on a higher level of unconsciousness. It amazes me of how unaware they are of such hypocrisy.

Furthermore, for Trump to say he would fire any athlete that continued to disrespect of the flag is just hysterical, really. If he were able to do that he would be kissing a vast majority of the athletic industry goodbye.

This started 2 years ago, people should be over it already, they transitioned from sitting to kneeling and bowing their heads.

This is an expression of reverence and submission! This is a position used in some religions for prayer or submission to a deity.

I don’t know if it’s just me, or that it sounds like the players that are protesting are showing more respect to the flag than the ones that aren’t.

Let’s also not forget that Melania Trump, native to Slovenia, had to remind spouse, President Donald Trump to place his right hand over his chest during the National Anthem.

Right, God Bless America!
